How I Edit My Photos: Vintage, Dusty Filter (FREE & SIMPLE)!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week, and are looking forward to the weekend!  Today is my first official day of spring break, and Doug and I are packing up the car and heading to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for a week of skiing in the mountains!  We cannot even wait!

Lately I’ve been noticing the vintage “dusty” filter on all of my favorite blogger/influencer’s photos, and I immediately decided to hop on the trend!  A lot of influencers have been “selling” their specially made filters, but I found a way to add the perfect “dusty” filter to your photo FOR FREE!  Yes, that’s right, it’s completely free!

These vintage, dusty filters have been on almost all of my recent Instagram photos (follow along with me @tessa_noelle), and I have gotten such a positive response from all of you!  Photo editing is a passion of mine, and I love sharing exciting new ways to enhance your photos (especially when the filters are free, am I right)?!

Okay… enough rambling!  Let’s get to the good stuff…

The way to get the vintage, dusty filter on photos is… (drum roll)

Afterlight!

I’ve used this app for years now, and I just discovered the section of the app that includes all of the texture overlays for photos, including the “dusty” filter pack!  This filter pack comes with 13 different vintage, dusty options to layer over your photos, and you can even adjust how “intense” you want the filter to be!  And yes, it’s all completely free!  You can also add light leaks to your photos for free, and you can purchase the “Instant Film” and “Wanderer” filter packs for .99 cents each!

Before vs. after!

Here are a few more examples of my photos using the “dusty” filter pack on Afterlight!

There you have it, a super easy and completely free way to add the vintage, dusty filter to your photos!  If you post any photos using this filter, make sure to tag me in them or send me a message on Instagram so I can see!!  Also, if you want me to do more photo editing posts, definitely let me know!

I will be “out of office” from Monday, March 5th through Friday, March 9th, but starting Monday, March 12th I am going to be introducing a ton of new content!  I don’t want to give anything away, but I’ve been working hard on some exciting projects and I cannot wait to share them with you!!  I will also be vlogging our adventures in Colorado, so head over to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss out on any videos!  I hope you all have a beautiful day, and enjoy every moment of the weekend!

Love & Good Vibes

Tessa

Your Instagram photos are so cute! I usually stick with Lightroom, VSCO, and A Color Story, but I’ll have to download Afterlight and try it out!!
