A Week in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you had a beautiful weekend, and are feeling refreshed and inspired for the week to come!  We have been blessed with a few sunny, 50 degree days in Michigan, which definitely has me wishing for spring!  As much as I love fall and winter, I am ready for some warmer days!

Two weeks ago marked Doug and I’s very last spring break (where did the time go?!), and this year we decided to head to the mountains for a week of skiing!  We packed up the car and headed for a 24 hour road trip (one way!) to Steamboat Springs, Colorado!  This was my first time ever visiting Colorado, and I immediately fell in love!  The scenery was unbelievably beautiful, and I already want to go back!

Where We Stayed

We stayed at the Holiday Inn that was inside of the resort, and it was by far the best hotel experience I have ever had!  They upgraded us to a beautiful suite overlooking the mountains, and they were super accommodating during our entire stay!  We spent many hours in the hottub/pool and at Rex’s (the restaurant inside of the hotel), and we definitely plan on staying there again when we return to Steamboat Springs in the future!  Seriously check it out if you’re ever in the area, plus they offer free parking if you’re a roadtripper like us!!  Also, I made the perfect road trip playlist on Spotify, click here to check it out!

Our Package (DEALS!)

You know that Doug and I are all about traveling on a budget, so we did tons of research beforehand to figure out the best option for our price range!  We chose the Sun and Snow vacation package, which included 20% off lift tickets and lodging, and we received $200 in resort credit that could be used for food, drinks, apparel, and activities!  The restaurants are all incredible (we recommend Bear River & Umbrella Bar, and Stoker Bar & Restaurant) and definitely order a Bloody Mary (or two!) because that’s what Steamboat Springs is known for!  I was only able to try two, but both of them were incredible!

What We Recommend

Definitely get your money’s worth by skiing/snowboarding as much as you can!  We were beyond exhausted by the end of the trip, but we were able to experience so much and we made some incredible memories!  On our final day we went to the very top of the mountain, where the altitude was over 10,000 ft, and we took in the beautiful view before our final ski!  Also, definitely do some research when booking your vacation!  We saved hundreds by finding the Sun and Snow package, and also by driving!  They offered a free shuttle service over to the base of the mountain as well, and it saved us $25 per day rather than having to park my car in a lot right next to the entrance!  We drove over to the Meadows parking lot (about two minutes from our hotel), and the shuttle picked us up and dropped us off exactly where we needed!  The shuttle also had a place to store your skis/snowboard on your way to the mountain (probably a 5-10 minute ride)!

One thing we wish we would have done was explored the town a little bit more, and we wanted to visit the Strawberry Park Hot Springs which was only 20 minutes outside of the resort!  I also wanted to try a few more Bloody Marys, I only tried two out of the eight on the “best Bloody Mary” punch card!  We’ll just have to save that for next time! 🙂

I also vlogged our entire trip, check out our adventures!

I hope you all have a beautiful Monday, enjoy the sunshine and the gorgeous weather!  I’m spending the day spring cleaning and organizing my space, and I have a much needed slow flow hot yoga session planned for this evening!  Today marks the beginning of my new workout routine, which I am so excited to share with you (very soon)!

Love & Good Vibes
