Spring Detox: 7 Simple Tips for Productivity & Positivity

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you had a beautiful week, and are excited for the weekend!

I am thrilled for this weekend because my graduation ceremony is tomorrow!!  I cannot even believe how quickly these past four years went by, and I am so grateful for absolutely everything!  Tomorrow marks the beginning of a brand new chapter, and I could not be more excited!

With the change of season, I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to stay positive and productive!  Spring is a time of new growth, new beginnings, and a fresh perspective, and it’s the perfect time to get inspired!  Also if you haven’t already, check out my Spring Cleaning Checklist for College Students (3 DIY Natural Cleaners) post for some extra inspiration!

Embrace the Outdoors

After a snowy winter, there is truly nothing better than walking outside and feeling the warmth and sunshine!  In Michigan it feels like a miracle whenever we reach day over 60, so I took advantage of every single sunny, warm day!  There’s something so refreshing and beautiful about being immersed in nature, especially being surrounded with sunshine, positive energy and fresh blooms!  Set up a picnic, take a walk or bike ride, or meet up with some friends and take some cute pictures outside!

Surround Yourself with Positivity

I believe one of the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle is removing any negative energy/toxic element!  This can be anything from a toxic friendship or relationship, a negative environment, or anything in your life that isn’t bringing you joy.  If something is not impacting your life in a positive way, it’s not worth keeping around!  Surround yourself with people who inspire you, motivate you, and help you become your best self!

Try New Healthy Habits

For me, spring always symbolizes a new beginning and a fresh start (which means new goals)!  I always find myself writing down goals that directly relate to my health and my overall wellbeing, because I think spring is the perfect time to refresh yourself! Integrating new, healthy habits into your lifestyle will promote a positive change in your routine, and you may find yourself feeling more refreshed and inspired!  Try a new workout routine, try new recipes with fresh spring ingredients, or try something new that you’ve been wanting to accomplish!

Develop a Morning & Night Routine

How you spend your morning and night will directly relate to how you will spend the rest of your day!  If you wake up late every morning and rush to get out the door, you are already starting your day with stress.  If you aren’t getting enough sleep at night, you’re not going to perform your best during the day.  It’s all about balance, and developing a morning and night routine that work for you!  Try waking up a little earlier in the morning so you have extra time to get ready, enjoy your morning coffee, and allow yourself to wake up naturally before your day begins!  At night, try turning off your electronics early, allow your mind to relax and unwind, and try going to bed earlier!  I’m going to be sharing my morning and night routines very soon, so definitely stay in touch for that!

Refresh Your Space

With the spring season comes spring cleaning!  Instead of looking at spring cleaning as a chore, think about how you are transforming your space into a place where you feel inspired!  Your space should be filled with positive energy and should make you smile every time you walk through the door!  Try decluttering, rearranging, and refreshing your space for the new season!  Also, a simple way to declutter is to ask yourself “has this item brought me joy in the last six months?”, and if the answer is no then it’s time to let go!

Get Organized

If you know me, you know that I keep two planners with me at all times and I plan out everything months in advance!  I love all things color-coded, and I love to write down everything going on as well as everything that I need to accomplish for that day!  Getting organized will allow you to keep track of your daily tasks, and it will be much easier for you to schedule appointments, coffee dates, or some “me time”!  If carrying around a planner isn’t your thing, try scheduling on your phone or in your phone’s calendar!

Relocate & Re-inspire

This can be anything from moving to a new city, taking a trip, trying a new coffeeshop, or finding a new spot to accomplish your work!  I am someone who loves discovering new places because I love trying new things and feeling the type of energy associated with new spaces!  Change can definitely be a positive thing, and you may just find exactly where you are meant to be!
