Finding Your Balance

I’ll be the first to say, I’ve gotten off track.  

Remember the notorious funk I talked about a few posts back?  Well it decided to linger around a little longer than anticipated.  I gave up on working out, on making plans both for now and my future, on positivity, and allowed myself to be consumed in a toxic environment.  This isn’t me, but it is something that all of us face every once in a while.

Exploring Ibiza, Spain!

Happy Monday everyone!!  It is a beautiful new week, and I haven’t been able to stop reminiscing about Ibiza, Spain!  Ibiza is truly breathtaking and so full of life, and I fell in love from the moment we stepped off of the ferry!  Out of all of the places we visited on our trip, Spain was by far my favorite and I cannot wait to return someday!

Our view from the balcony!  We were positioned right above the hotspot for nightlife, so we were having so much fun people watching and living the authentic Ibiza experience (I recommend ordering mojitos, yum)!

Visiting S’Escalinata was at the top of my list, because I love the authentic “hippie” vibes!  The restaurant is filled with love, as well as delicious tapas and cocktails, and there are no shortage of happy quotes sprinkled around the exterior!  “Eat, Drink, & Love”

One of the main attractions in Ibiza is the huge castle positioned right in the middle of the city, so naturally we had to climb up to see the views!

One of my favorite things about Ibiza was the character found on every street!  Every building was painted a muted pastel or white, and each street was lined with floral and greenery!

Beach day!  We visited one of the popular beaches on our side of the island, and spent the day sunbathing!  The best part was the fact that we could see the mountains from the sea, and the water was as clear as glass!

Even though we couldn’t find Mike Posner, Ibiza was the perfect getaway filled with good vibes and endless love!  I couldn’t ask for a more perfect finish to the best vacation!

Today’s Inspiration

Coffee Date no.5; Spring Weather & Soul Searching

Happy Friday everyone!!  I hope you had the most beautiful week, and have been enjoying the lovely spring weather!  I’ve been outside as much as possible, and hearing the birds chirping, smelling the fresh air, and feeling the warm sun is truly perfection!!

This week was a crazy one, and I have never been more excited to say that today is Friday!  This week was filled with midterms, a 12 page research paper, multiple assignments, campaign planning, and seemingly endless hours of reading and studying.  While it definitely took a toll on my mental health, it also left my soul feeling refreshed and re-inspired!  The beautiful weather, and the fact that Doug and I’s cruise is in ten days, definitely helped motivate and inspire me as well!

This week I stopped by a lovely coffeehouse right by my campus (details coming next Friday!), and I switched it up and went for an iced coffee rather than my usual hot cup!  The switch to iced coffee officially symbolizes spring to me, so I grabbed my Ray-Bans and my Tory Burch sandals and decided to explore downtown!  It was wonderful seeing so many people outside enjoying the warmth and sunshine, and it truly made my heart so happy seeing everyone’s smiling faces!

I stopped for a while on the famous Blue Bridge, and let my mind wander while listening to the rushing river below me.  Feeling the fresh breeze while watching the sunset left me feeling refreshed and zen, and I could instantly tell that my mind, body and spirit were back in alignment!  I had also been lacking positive energy throughout the week, so being able to absorb the good vibes back into my body felt incredible!  A crazy midterm week ended with the most beautiful rediscovery!

My Morning Routine: 8 Tips For a Perfect Morning

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!!  Today is a bright and sunny day, and I cannot even help but count down the days to my upcoming vacations (especially with midterms right around the corner)!  Since today is the beginning of a new week, treat yourself to something special and accomplish those lingering tasks on your to-do list!  “Today is a good day to have a good day”

There’s nothing I love more than mornings, and I’ve seemed to finally figure out my perfect morning routine that makes me the most successful throughout the day!  It’s a little too easy to fall into a slump during this time of the year, so creating your perfect morning routine will make each day a little bit brighter!  I wanted to share my morning routine with all of you, while incorporating 8 of my favorite tips!

Stop Snoozing

I’ll be the first to admit, I am possibly the worst when it comes to snoozing my alarm! I’ve tried everything, including putting my phone on the opposite side of the room, but I can’t seem to break the habit!  If you’re able to, try getting up as soon as your alarm goes off, and avoid snoozing it if you can!  Getting up right away will get your mindset ready for the day, and it will cut down on having to rush (something I do way too much of)!

Get Energized

My favorite way to get energized in the morning is to workout, and it always leaves me feeling excited and positive about the day!  Getting active in the morning will give you more energy throughout the day, and I guarantee you’ll be in a great mood!! I start my mornings with hot yoga, or my dance for fitness and body sculpting classes, and my body always feels strong and detoxified for the rest of the day!  I’m also going to share an updated workout/wellness routine very soon, so make sure you stay in touch for that!

Hydrate & Caffeinate

Starting the morning with ice water and caffeine is a must for me, especially with classes starting at 8:30 am!  Drinking water first thing in the morning will help kickstart your metabolism, and will naturally energize you for the rest of the day!  I also like to drink two cups of oolong tea, which is caffeinated, and then make a cup of coffee in my french press once I finish my breakfast!  

Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day, so try to eat something healthy and nutritious!  Eating a healthy breakfast will give you sharper focus and a boost of energy to start the day, and it also reduces “morning crankiness”!  I like to eat fruit in the morning, either in the form of a green smoothie or plain.  I prefer strawberries, grapefruit and bananas, and I usually eat a small cup of dairy free yogurt as well.  That gives me enough energy to power through my workouts, and I’m ready for lunch by the time I get home!


Morning meditation is a must for me, and something I believe every single person should try!  Taking a few moments for yourself is the perfect way to embrace mindfulness, and is my favorite way to feel present and calm.  Since I began meditating, I found myself being much more peaceful and positive every single day!  Meditation is the perfect way to bring your mind, body, and spirit back into alignment, and to truly discover your best self!

Get Inspired & Motivated

My favorite way to get inspired and motivated is planning coffee dates early in the morning with my best friends!  Truly nothing makes me feel more content, and chatting with friends bright and early is when the most creative ideas flow!  I always feel the most inspired and motivated in the morning, so meeting with friends and brainstorming/collaborating ideas is my favorite thing to do!  I also love visiting my favorite coffeehouses on my own in the morning, and being in the environment always leaves me feeling peaceful and inspired!

Plan Out The Day

Take some time in the morning to make a to-do list, and to check over everything that is going on during the day!  This is where having a planner (or three!) comes in handy, because it’s easy to glance through to see what tasks need to be done/what you already have planned for that day!  Check out how I utilize my Erin Condren, Lilly Pulitzer, and Kate Spade planners, and I will have an updated organizational/planning routine coming soon!


Setting aside time to read with my morning cup of coffee is one of my favorite things to do!  Reading something you enjoy will stimulate your mind, and will improve your focus and concentration!  I recommend reading every morning and night if you have the chance, and using that time to have a mini detox from technology!

Hello everyone, happy Monday!! It’s a brand new week, and I’m so excited to announce that my Café Chat group and I decided to change the name of our monthly series!  Instead of Café Chat, we brainstormed a bunch of different ideas and created the name “Stories & Spaces”!  Since we all love focusing on inspirational/motivational topics, and since we are constantly discovering new places to explore, the name was incredibly fitting.  Our content and monthly set up will still be the exact same as before, just with a new name!! 

For January, Paige invited all of us into her beautiful home and set up her dining room table with art supplies, fresh sprigs of leaves, and the sweetest handwritten note!  Her sweet pup Max joined us for the conversation, and we all enjoyed some hot coffee/tea while discussing our goals and dreams.  Paige shared three different questions with us, all relating to reflection and growth for the upcoming year!

What is your number one goal for 2017?

My number one goal for 2017 is change.  This year is going to be a very big year for me, with a lot of very exciting events happening, and I cannot wait to see what each day brings!  Not only am I anticipating a lot of change in my lifestyle, but I am also making a personal goal to change my overall health and wellness.  As most of you know I am a huge advocate for crystal healing, meditation, and good vibes/daily self-care, and I really am looking to make that a much larger part of my life.  I believe in natural health through those techniques, as well as through exercise and healthy eating, and I am excited to start furthering my discovery into these techniques!  This relates to my second main goal of 2017, which is to truly become one with nature.  I will be able to share a lot more throughout the year when I practice both of these goals more, and I cannot wait!!

Sum up 2016.

2016 was genuinely a phenomenal year for me, because a lot of opportunities and incredible things happened throughout the entire year!  2016 was the year I was able to fall in love with myself, and fall in love with every aspect of my life, so I will always cherish that year as a whole!  I also did a lot more traveling/exploring, I ran my first half marathon, and I truly found myself (to name a few)!  While I had a lot more wonderful moments, and a few not so wonderful moments, 2016 I believe can easily be summed up into two words: growth and new beginnings!

What adventure(s) do you plan to take this year, and why?

The adventures will be endless for me this year, and I can honestly say I’ve never been more excited!  Not only are Doug and I taking multiple trips/adventures to beautiful places, but I am also on the adventure to live life to the absolute fullest.  This includes becoming one with nature, and embracing all of the beautiful change that is happening this year, as well as opening up my soul to these brand new experiences!  Doug and I are planning a huge two week trip in August where we are going to drive across the country, and stay in some of the most beautiful places we can find!  13 states in two weeks, and a 70 hour round trip, talk about a soul-opening experience!  I cannot wait to take on this huge adventure with my best friend, as well as all of the other events we’ve planned out!

This month’s meeting was one of my favorites, and I am so blessed with the best blogging tribe!!  Check out Paige, Ally, and Alyssa’s posts over on Where The Wildflowers Are, A Touch of Tulle, and Pretty, Young & Motivated!  Each of us has huge plans for 2017, and I cannot wait to take on the year with my best friends by my side!!
