Adventures in the Upper Peninsula

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you have had a beautiful week so far!

I’ve been a little MIA lately, and that’s because Doug and I took a trip to Michigan’s upper peninsula to celebrate his 22nd birthday!  We packed up the car for a nine hour road trip, and had so much fun exploring some of his favorite spots in Michigan!  There’s truly nothing better than discovering new places with your best friend, and I cannot wait for more adventures to come!

Happy Friday everyone!!

I’m not sure what’s more noticeable in this post… the fact that my skirt is so sideways it’s almost completely backwards, or the fact that my entire body is a nice shade of “I didn’t put on enough sunscreen” red!  Regardless, I am obsessed with this outfit and I can’t get enough of those ruffles!

While abroad, I wanted to keep my outfits fairly simply and flowy to maximize comfort while exploring.  This outfit was one that I found myself reaching for on multiple occasions, because I love the blush satin mixed with the medium denim!  Both of these pieces are staples in my collection, so pairing them together seemed like a must!

Simplicity is key for me when it comes to styling, so definitely check out my Simplistic Stripes in Spain post if you haven’t already!  I hope you all have a beautiful Friday, and have a wonderful Father’s Day weekend with loved ones and your #1 guy (I love you dad)!!

Exploring Ibiza, Spain!

Happy Monday everyone!!  It is a beautiful new week, and I haven’t been able to stop reminiscing about Ibiza, Spain!  Ibiza is truly breathtaking and so full of life, and I fell in love from the moment we stepped off of the ferry!  Out of all of the places we visited on our trip, Spain was by far my favorite and I cannot wait to return someday!

Ferry ride to the island, hello Ibiza!

Our view from the balcony!  We were positioned right above the hotspot for nightlife, so we were having so much fun people watching and living the authentic Ibiza experience (I recommend ordering mojitos, yum)!

Visiting S’Escalinata was at the top of my list, because I love the authentic “hippie” vibes!  The restaurant is filled with love, as well as delicious tapas and cocktails, and there are no shortage of happy quotes sprinkled around the exterior!  “Eat, Drink, & Love”

One of the main attractions in Ibiza is the huge castle positioned right in the middle of the city, so naturally we had to climb up to see the views!

One of my favorite things about Ibiza was the character found on every street!  Every building was painted a muted pastel or white, and each street was lined with floral and greenery!

Beach day!  We visited one of the popular beaches on our side of the island, and spent the day sunbathing!  The best part was the fact that we could see the mountains from the sea, and the water was as clear as glass!

Even though we couldn’t find Mike Posner, Ibiza was the perfect getaway filled with good vibes and endless love!  I couldn’t ask for a more perfect finish to the best vacation!

A Parisian Picnic & Exploring the City

Happy Friday beautiful friends, my soul is feeling fresh and inspired today!  Why?  Because I am back in my apartment, back in my normal routine (goodbye jet lag!), and life is just truly beautiful!

Sharing this post truly warms my heart, because this was one of my favorite days from my trip to Europe (besides the proposal, of course)!  This was the day when I did the most exploring, and discovered beautiful places and friendships that I will cherish forever!

Ally, and two friends, set up a picnic for all of us right in front of the Eiffel Tower!  They even surprised me with a bottle of champagne to celebrate being engaged, which nearly left me in tears!  We had so much fun chatting and catching up, even though it was 95 degrees (and humid!) without any sort of breeze!

If you haven’t already, definitely check out my post all about the most incredible brunch from Ladurée!  After brunch, we picked up some macarons to go and I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics!  I totally felt like Blair Waldorf enjoying sweets and champagne in Paris!

While exploring we wanted to make a trip to La Maison Rose café, which literally translates to “the pink house”!  It’s a little bit of a hike to reach this adorable destination, but well worth it (even though it was closed)!  I like to think of this café as the “Delta Zeta café” since green and rose are our colors, so naturally pictures had to be taken!

Keep on hiking, our next destination is an overlook of the city!

Later that evening, Doug and I visited the top of one of the tallest buildings in Paris to watch the sun set over the city!  This view was unbelievable, and it was truly breathtaking seeing the golden glow of the city at night!

To end the trip, Doug and I walked to the Seine to put our lock on the love-lock bridge!  Yes, I tried to find one of the flat gold locks, but this one will have to do! 😉  Paris, you will definitely be missed, and I cannot wait to return someday!

Exploring Rome, Italy!

Happy FriYAY everyone!!  As this post goes live, I will be flying to Paris, France!

For the past few days, Doug, Joe and I have been exploring Rome, Italy!  Rome is by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited, and we had so much fun exploring as many sites as possible!

We started with the Vatican Museum, where we explored all of the ancient and historic artifacts, and later visited the Sistine Chapel!

After the museum, we caught the bus and headed to the infamous Roman Colosseum!  The colosseum was even more breathtaking in person, and it was fascinating envisioning being alive in that time era!

Next we ventured to the Trevi Fountain (any fellow Lizzie McGuire fans out there!?), followed by the Pantheon, and some other truly breathtaking sites!

To end the evening, we watched the sunset by the river and enjoyed the most delicious seafood dinner!

Rome was absolutely beautiful, and I had so much fun exploring as much as the city as possible!  Even though we walked over 10 miles in one day (thank goodness for Birkenstocks!), I will never forget the memories that we made!  I can’t wait to go back someday!
