15 Ways to Become Your Best Self

Happy Wellness Wednesday everyone!  It’s been a while since we’ve last chatted, I hope you’re life has been nothing but beautiful and inspirational!  

Sometimes taking a step back and focusing on the little things in life is one of the best steps we can take in order to better ourselves, and to refresh our mind, body, and soul!  We’ve all been there, where we feel a little off balance and like something isn’t quite right.  Taking a break in order to receive clarity can be one of the best things for you, especially when it comes to being your best self.  I wanted to share 15 ways to truly become your best self, and each of these are things that I aspire to do every single day!  Every day is a beautiful, fresh start, and the perfect time to make your life, and yourself, the best it can possibly be!  

Invest in Yourself

Find what makes your mind, body and soul happy, and immerse yourself into it!  Do what you love and do what brings you joy, and fall more in love with yourself and the life you’re living every single day!

Skip Comparison

Easier said than done, right?!  Comparison is the thief of joy, and it allows many of us (myself included) to judge ourselves and our progress rather than loving what we’ve achieved!  Rather than comparison, try feeling inspired by what you’re seeing in order to keep the positivity flowing!  Your journey is going to look much different than everyone else’s, be proud of yourself!

Nourish Your Body

Eat well, drink lots of water (and hot tea, in my case!), work towards your fitness goals, and focus on your happiest, healthiest self!  Nourishment happens from the inside out, with a healthy mind, a healthy body, and a healthy lifestyle!  Try a detox and meditation, and focus on the present moment!

Treat Yourself

You deserve it!

Be a Little Selfish

Don’t overwork and overwhelm yourself, it’s okay to say no!  You are your most important person, allow yourself to take breaks and have a little me time!  

Wake Up Early

Enjoy the quiet beauty of the morning, and accomplish a few goals before your day even begins!  Wake up early to have a few moments to yourself; Grab a cup of coffee, a good book, sit outside, and watch the sunrise!  

Utilize Your Surroundings

Nature is truly one of the most beautiful things, immerse yourself in it!  Take a few deep breaths, explore, and enjoy every moment!  Go somewhere new and discover what’s out there, or take a walk (or road trip!) and see where it takes you!

Smile & Laugh More

Even when it feels impossible, try to find at least one thing every single day that will make you smile and (literally) laugh out loud!  Not only does laughter lower blood pressure and reduce stress, it also works your abs, improves cardiac health, and produces a general sense of well-being!

Let Go

Nothing in your life is worth holding on to if it doesn’t bring you joy and happiness!  People, habits, emotions, whatever it may be; Allow yourself to let go of negativity in order to better your life!  

Start Conversation

Take a digital detox, and get to know the people around you!  Say hello to the person next to you on the airplane, or compliment someone completely out of the blue!  You never know what story they may share, they might just happen to live in your previous hometown and are exploring Europe (Rome, specifically) the same time you are (one of the greatest, spontaneous conversations I’ve had)!  

Spread Love & Positivity

Spread love and positivity everywhere you go, and leave everyone you encounter with a smile!  Focus on love in your relationship, as well as friendships and with family, and remind someone how much they truly mean to you!  

Be Creative

I was inspired by my best friend Paige, Where The Wildflowers Are, because she completely immerses herself in her art and creates the most incredible things!  Find something that sparks your creativity, and see what you can make!  For me, my creativity shows through my journaling, my photography, my social media, and my interior design!

Random Acts of Kindness

Anything from a smile, a compliment, or paying for the person behind you, random acts of kindness will spread love and joy throughout our society!  I try to do at least one random act of kindness per day, and I guarantee it will brighten their day as well as yours!

Try Something New

There is something so fun and exciting about trying something new!  If something has been sparking your interest, try it out and see what happens!
