12 Simple Ways to Get Inspired + De-Stress

Happy Wellness Wednesday everyone!  I hope you’ve had a wonderful week so far, and are enjoying the beautiful sunshine!

Does anyone else feel like January has been the longest month EVER?!  I definitely do, and lately I’ve been feeling a little less motivated than usual!  Being in my final semester of college, senioritis has hit making it nearly impossible to complete anything at this point!  We all have our moments where we feel slightly unmotivated, which is why I wanted to share 12 of my favorite, simple ways to get inspired (in hopes of re-inspiring myself, as well)!!

Take a Day

Take some time to have a “me day”, and enjoy every moment!  Reschedule plans, use one of your absences for class, take a personal day, whatever you need to do in order to take a day for yourself!  Sometimes a break is essential in order to refresh and de-stress, don’t ever feel guilty for self-care!

Head to a Coffeehouse

There’s something about the energy of a coffeehouse that is one of the most inspiring things, in my opinion!  Being surrounded by creative, positive individuals (and not to mention, the smell of fresh coffee!) is one of the best things, and the energy is sure to inspire you!  Order your favorite drink (or try something new!), take some aesthetic coffee pictures, and enjoy!

Fresh Flowers

I always have a fresh bouquet of flowers and some potted plants because I love how they instantly brighten the room!  I am a total plant-mom (just like my mom is!), so I love adding new plants to my space!  Fresh flowers spark creativity and positivity, there’s truly nothing better!

Light a Candle/Diffuse Essential Oils

When I’m at my apartment, I will always have a candle burning or I’ll diffuse some essential oils!  Candles immediately add a cozy element to any space, and essential oils are beneficial and smell amazing! I like to diffuse lavender essential oil to promote relaxation, and the volcano candle from Anthropologie is one of my favorites when I’m blogging or working on my internship! PS… I’m going to be making an entire post dedicated to diffusing and essential oils very soon!

Get Some Exercise

Exercise not only helps you feel more energized, but it will leave you feeling refreshed and strong!  Exercise releases positive endorphins, which promote happiness, so you will literally feel amazing both inside and out!  Plus, exercising creates confidence and motivation, and who doesn’t want a little extra?! Hit the gym, head to yoga/spin, or go for a walk outside, whatever will leave you feeling happy and beautiful!

Plan a Girl’s Day

Grab your girl gang, wear your favorite outfit, and plan a day filled with adventure!  I always feel the most inspired, positive, and refreshed after spending a day with my best friends, and we always make the best memories!  It’s not always easy to work around schedules, but make it a point to have a weekly coffee date, to watch The Bachelor, or meet up in between work or class!  Life is best spent with friends, so make some fun plans!

Get Organized

One of the main contributors to stress is a lack of organization.  Take some time to plan out your day/week/month, make a to-do list, tidy your space, and declutter your mind!  I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “a cluttered house is a cluttered mind”, so take some time to clear out any unnecessary thoughts or belongings!  Your space should be your place to relax, unwind, and enjoy your time!

Detox

Take a LUSH bath, make a cup of tea, and cozy up in your favorite comfy clothes!  Put your phone away for a bit, pick up a book or magazine, and enjoy relaxation! I love cuddling with my puppy, watching Gilmore Girls, and making a snack and a hot cup of tea! Indulge in the things that bring you joy, and allow yourself to detox!

Head Outside

Nature is the best cure, and there is nothing better than spending time outdoors!  Take a walk and see what you can find, head to the beach, or have a picnic in your favorite park!  Listen to the birds chirping, feel the sunshine, watch the clouds, and enjoy the fresh air!

Develop Healthy Habits

A healthy mind inspires a healthy life; eat well, get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, and be active!  Developing healthy habits will leave you glowing from the inside out, and you’re body will feel amazing!  They promote concentration, digestion, and a positive well-being, so get in the habit of being healthy!

Take a Trip

Book an Airbnb, buy a cheap plane ticket or load up the car, and take off!  Travel with friends or loved ones, and escape for a while!  A vacation can be as easy as a day-trip to one of your favorite places, or a long weekend in a new city; whatever you need in order to have a getaway!  Take a ton of photos, eat amazing food, and make the best memories!

Treat Yourself

Would it even be a post of mine if I didn’t mention this one?!  Treat yourself to something special every single day, whether it’s your favorite meal, a cup of coffee, a hot bath, or a shopping spree!  You deserve to indulge, enjoy!

Such good tips! I always find if I’m not moving (aka workout out reg) it really effects my mood. I also have a candle that I will light if I’m having a particularly day that I need to de-stress.
Also how adorable is your Boston being ever curious about that cup of tea 🙂
