Carry-On Essentials for an International Flight

Happy FriYAY everyone!  As this post goes live, I am on a flight to LAX in California!  I am so excited to be heading to California courtesy of Victoria’s Secret PINK, and I cannot wait to spend the weekend with the other Sponsored Stylists and Campus Reps at the PINK Nation Motel!!  Sunny skies and 80 degree weather awaits!!

As some of you may know, I am hopping on a red-eye flight to Europe as soon as my weekend in California is over!  I’m meeting Doug and one of our best friends in Barcelona, Spain, and we will be exploring as many places as possible until June 2nd!  Check out my Life Update; Victoria’s Secret PINK Motel & 2 Weeks in Europe post for all of the details!

Since this month will be filled with travels, I wanted to share some of my carry-on/travel essentials with you all!  I’ve flown quite a lot throughout my life, so I narrowed it down to some must-haves that I won’t be able to live without on my flights!

Travel Essentials

A cute passport holder, a neck pillow, and a sleep mask are definite must-haves for an international flight!  This will make any flight more comfortable, and you’ll look adorable at the same time!  Check out this Ban.do passport holder, and this DesignLoveFest neck pillow & eye mask set

Empty beverage containers are essential, because they are reusable and you can fill them up as much as you need!  Just make sure they’re empty when you’re going through customs/TSA so they won’t be confiscated!  My favorites are my marble S’well bottle, and my travel mug from Target (only $3 in store)!

I cannot live without my electronics, especially being a blogger/Instagram enthusiast!  I love bringing my Canon with me on trips, and I can’t live without my Macbook Pro!  I also travel with two portable chargers (check out this pink charger from Anker), my polaroid camera, and extra film!  Don’t forget all of the necessary charging equipment for each electronic as well!

Keeping up with your skincare regime is one of the most important things to do during a flight, and while you’re traveling!  This adorable cosmetic bag from DesignLoveFest holds all of my essentials, and fits easily into my bag!  Packing your favorite skincare items will leave your skin feeling healthy and happy, especially since long flights (and travel in general) may affect your skin!

You all know I can’t live without reading material, and long flights are the perfect time to catch up on reading!  Reading something enjoyable will make the time fly by, and will leave you feeling inspired from the moment you land!  Right now I’m reading Eat, Pray, Love, Cereal magazine, Darling magazine, The Magnolia Journal, Paris Street Style, Suitcase magazine, and How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are!  All quite fitting for our trip to Europe, if you ask me!

I couldn’t resist packing my journals on my trip, because I absolutely love journaling and I look forward to it every day!  I packed my Erin Condren Life Planner which is my health/fitness journal, my Lilly Pulitzer agenda which is my blogging/daily to-do journal, my Keep It Simple travel journal, my Our Q&A 3-Year Journal for Doug and I, and my MayDesigns bullet journal!  Yes, this may seem overboard, but I fully intend on documenting each moment!

My final travel essential is to travel in your letters!  People from across the globe are members of the Greek community, and you never know who you might meet!  Plus, wearing your letters makes for a super cute photo op!

Happy Monday everyone!!  Can you believe we are halfway through May already!?  I leave for my trip to California and Europe in four days, and I have been packing and prepping this entire weekend!  I can’t wait!!

Last week I took a trip to my favorite place for my favorite festival; Tulip Time!  If you remember from my Tulip Time post last year, Ally and I spent the entire day walking around downtown and through Centennial Park!  This year we decided to visit the infamous Windmill Island, where we were surrounded by endless rows of vibrant tulips!  Tulips are my favorite flower, so I was in heaven!

I wanted to embrace the “springtime vibe” with my outfit, so I paired my favorite blue and white striped shift dress with my black Hunter boots!  I love the combination of the simple dress with the boots, and I layered my go-to trench coat from London Fog overtop!  It was a bright and sunny day, and the tulips looked as beautiful as ever!!

I hope you all have a beautiful Monday, and use the day to treat yourself to something special!  Today is a fresh start to a brand new week, so make today a good one!! 🙂

Coffee Date no.9; Brunch at Brown Butter Creperie & Café

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you’ve had a wonderful week, and are ready for a beautiful weekend!!

I think it’s safe to say I’ve found my new obsession, and it is definitely the crepes from Brown Butter Creperie & Café!  I had the cinnamon & sugar crepe, and it was absolutely delicious!  I’d never tried a crepe before that day, and the best part is the fact that every crepe can be made gluten and dairy free!!  They also have incredible coffee, and the entire aesthetic is organic and truly beautiful!  Aside from crepes, they have other food options for brunch such as salads and paninis, and they are bringing leige waffles and quiche to the menu soon!  I can definitely see myself being a frequent visitor, especially since I’ve already made plans to go again next week!

Two of my best friends and I visited Brown Butter before heading to the Tulip Time festival in Holland, and it was the most beautiful, sunny day!  We had so much fun chatting and snapping polaroids, and it was truly the perfect morning for brunch!  Cassie ordered the lemon & sugar crepe, and Ally ordered the blueberry & goat cheese crepe, and both of them recommend trying those flavors if you’re ever in the Grand Rapids area!

I hope you all have the most beautiful Friday, and enjoy the lovely (dare I say) summer weather!  Only one more week until I leave for California and Europe, I am SO excited!!
